Since the time immemorial, our traditional system of medicine and folklore claiming that medicinal plants as a whole or their parts are being used in all types of diseases. Natural remedies from medicinal plants are considered to be effective and safe alternative treatment for wounds. Alcoholic extract of leaves of Mussaenda frondosa Linn. (Rubiaceae) and its isolated compound quercetin were evaluated for wound healing activity by using different types of wound healing models such as excision wound, incision wound and dead space wound. The results were obtained in terms of wound contraction, epithelialization time and tensile strength. All results were significant for different parameters in wound healing activity in quercetin and alcoholic extract treated animals compared with control groups. The isolated compound quercetin was confirmed by preliminary phytochemical investigation, IR, NMR and Mass spectroscopic methods.

Objectives: Alcoholic and aqueous extracts of Solanum surattense Burm were investigated for their Hepatoprotective and Antioxidant potentials against Liver injury induced by CCl4 in rats.
Methods: The liver damage was induced in male albino rats (150-200g) by administering CCl4 (2ml/kg) for 7 days and extent of damage was studied by assessing biochemical and Antioxidant level in liver parameters such as aspartate amino transferase (AST), alanine amino transferase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), total bilirubin, lipid peroxidase (LPO) with a reduction of total protein, superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase, and glutathione Stransferase (GST) in experimental animals. Histopathological changes of liver sample were compared with respective control.
Results: Treatment of rats with alcoholic and aqueous plant extract (200mg/kg) for 7 days resulted in significant (P<0.001) reduction in serum marker enzymes and antioxidant levels to near normal against CCl4-treated rats. The protection effect was found to be comparable with Liv52 treated group.
Conclusion: The alcoholic extracts of Solanum surattense Burm have protected liver from CCl4 damage. The probable mechanism may be due to Steroid and Tannins known for their Antioxidant activity may potentially confer protection against oxidative stress induced liver injury.

The aim of this research was to develop the pharmacognostical parameters and phytochemical screening alongwith histological studies and quantitative microscopy of the leaf powder of Hemigraphis colorata.
The dried leaves of Hemigraphis colorata (Family: Acanthaceae) were subjected to standardization by following pharmacognostical and phytochemical screening methods. Methanolic extract was subjected to thin layer chromatography (TLC) to find out various phytoconstituents.
Microscopic study showed the presence of Cuticle, covering trichome, single layered thick walled epidermis, palisade cells, transfusion tissue, spongy cells, vascular bundle and chlorenchyma. Phytochemical screening reported the presence of alkaloids, tannins, proteins; steroids and sterols were present in Methanolic extract. TLC showed two different Rf values (0.86 and 0.36) with different nature of their residues.
